Alcatel One Touch is the brand for mobile phones and mobile broadband modems worldwide manufactured by TCL Corporation and Alcatel Mobile Phones (from Wikipedia).
Alcatel One Touch and Pop series mobile phones has recently launched in Bangladesh. Though we cannot confirm any authorized seller for Bangladeshi market. One of our associate informed us to take a review last month on “ Alcatel One Touch Star “, which is one of the bestselling smart phones in a range between 8,000 Tk to 8,500 Tk in Bangladesh. So let’s see what we found in this smart phone.

Design:
Alcatel One Touch Star is a traditional bar phone with rounded edge. Dimension 117.9 x 60.8 x 9.7 mm (4.64 x 2.39 x 0.38 in). Shinny plastic body looks better than other Symphony/ Walton phones. The shortcut keys (back, home, options) are placed below the screen with white LED. In the back upper side there is the 5 MP camera with LED flash light and speaker.
Screen:
This phone has a superb display with AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors 480 x 800 pixels, 4.0 inches (~233 ppi pixel density) and support multitouch up to 10 fingers. Alcatel use Corning Gorilla Glass and Oleophobic coating for screen protection. Icons are customized like other super branded mobile phone, create stylish look home and menu screen. Multiple home screens are available for more user apps and widget.
Camera:
This phone is featured 5 MP primary camera, each picture max size of 2560 х 1920 pixels with autofocus and LED flash. Can record 720p @30fps (frame per second) with video recording mode. Secondary (front camera )is VGA .3 MP with 640x480 pixel for video call.Camera Shoot with Alcatel One Touch Star:
The photos were taken in the night scene with back camera (Primary Camera, Resolution 5MP).
Video Playback:
We ran a 720p and 1080p video on this mobile with MX player, result : can run 720p smoothly but not 1080p video.
Performance:
With Mediatek MT6577 dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 processor and PowerVR SXG531u GPU this phone scored a score of 8367 in Antutu Benchmark application ( the more score is more better) during our hands on review. This surely a good score in range of 8,000 Tk. Smartphone for international brand.
Sensors:
This phone comes with five types of sensor e.g. Direction sensor (A-GPS), Light sensor, Acceleration sensor, Proximity sensor, E-Compass.
Package contents:
We opened the box of Alcatel One Touch Star and found a Data Cable, Headphone, Charger, User Manual with the phone.
